Project Summary:

General Description of the work included:
​

Interior cleaning of the existing intake pipe (CPP) in Lake Ontario and intake pipe from surge chamber/intake chamber to intake well, as required to perform work.

New high density polyethylene (HDPE) DR11 raw water sample lines and chlorination lines including all valves, fittings, connections, fasteners, ballast cable and all related appurtenances.

New 75 mm schedule 80 PVC Diffuser and related accessories.
-
Submittals including work plans, health and safety plans, environmental protection plans, shop drawings, Operating, Maintenance Manuals.

Mechanical connection and commissioning the system.

New Raw Water and Chlorine Lines Work included:
​

Removal of existing chlorine solution and raw water sampling lines, diffuser and associated appurtenances in the plant intake (intake crib to respective pumps connections at the Whitby WSP).

Remotely operated vehicle (ROV) inspections of the intake, as described herein.

Cleaning of intake crib and intake structure down the intake shaft elbow (removal of mussel and silt accumulation along all surface walls, ceiling and floor of shaft structure).

Fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of new chlorine solution and raw water sampling pipe bundles and diffusers in the plant intake at the Whitby WSP.

Secure and pay for the cost of additional required permits.
