Floating Eel Light Array Boom

Project Summary:
The work included assembly, delivery, installation and removal of a 216.6m long lighted floating boom array upstream of the Iroquois Water Control Dam in USA waters.
This EPRI research project was conducted to develop means to guide and collect eels for transport below hydroelectric facilities and thereby reduce eel turbine passage mortality on the St. Lawrence River.
Operations included coordination with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and the EPRI to ensure health, safety, and security requirements were complied with and to coordinate electrical hookup of the light array.
