Client: Thousand Island Boat Museum

Project Summary:

The design build project included design and construction of the boat museum stationary docks, the boat museum structure and the floating breakwater.

Key features on this project included:

219m of stationary docks with 254mm concrete decks supported by 28 – 324mm dia. x 12.7mm vertical concrete filled piles anchored to existing bedrock with 32mm diameter tension rods without socketing the piles into the bedrock and 30 – 324mm dia. x 12.7mm (10:1 & 7:1) battered concrete filled piles anchored to existing bedrock.

Wave and Ice uplift forces were resisted using a combination of rock anchors, the weight of the concrete filled piles and the weight of the concrete decks without socketing the piles in the bedrock.

The 44m x 48m (2,112m2) open sided, roofed boat port structure; and 108.5m x 8m wide timber decked floating breakwater.
